I have always had a problem with following a recipe so I love the idea of a formula, a basic recipe that you can chop and change to suit your own taste buds. Its often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, with statistics showing that breakfast eaters tend to weigh less than breakfast “skippers”. Granola is a heart healthy breakfast full of whole grains, like oats for example which are full of fibre and will help you feel fuller for longer. Also granola is packed full of nuts and seeds, which are full of “good” fats and omega 3 fatty acids that are essential for heart health. Putting your own formula together allows you to control the sugar content that you include and by using local honey you can help build immunity to seasonal allergies. So generally its a great way to start the day, I like to add a generous dollop of greek yoghurt and some seasonal berries !
